Willow Tree Figurines
Willow Tree is an intimate line of figurative sculpture that speaks in quiet ways to heal, protect and inspire. Susan Lordi hand carves each original figure. Expression is revealed through gestures only… a tilt of the head, placement of the hands, a turn of the body. Simplicity of form and the absence of facial features signify Willow Tree.
Many of Susan's sculptures are about love - sharing love, being surrounded by love, and experiencing love - with all its universal appeal. Her classic forms and gestures are Willow Tree's signature style, but her carving technique and use of new materials and finish are ever evolving ...

The posture and profile of this piece is somewhat iconic. It speaks about a love so strong that it continues on beyond a lifetime. The words 'everlasting and true' express the idea that love can go beyond death. The rose stem gradually blends into her body, so there's no separation between the object that she's holding and her body. I wanted the whole figure to be a symbol of love, not just the rose."
