Melissa & Doug Wooden Pizza Party Toy

This is one of a range of Melissa and Doug toys available from The Gift Shop, and I have to say that, like all their toys, it's absolutely brilliant! Traditionally made from wood, it is very high quality and suitable from 3 years upwards. What you actually get is a smart wooden box measuring about 32cm by 22cm, which contains a wooden pizza on a board, plus wooden pepperami slices, mushrooms and peppers, plus a pizza cutter and a pizza slice for serving it up - and all made out of wood!

The concept is extremely clever. The pizza is pre-cut into six slices, but the slices are then velcroed together, meaning when you roll the pizza cutter between the slices, is separates the velcro, producing a very satisfying crunching noise, just like you were cutting real food! All the 'toppings' are velcroed on the back so they can be 'stuck' into the top of the pizza in any order - the pizza is liberally dotted with velcro too.

I have to say I am absolutely blown away by the quality and play value of all the Melissa and Doug toys. I can highly recommend them - and so can all the little people I've tried them out on!
